Moi in a Nutshell
Alas, I am coming to you from my home sweet home in coastal Alabama. When I’m not curled around my laptop, I can be found attempting organization, snapping photos, kissing boo boos, trying my hand at some HTML, or napping.
Why did you start a blog?
My husband and I were married in 2008 and before our first anniversary, I had my gall bladder removed, my first root canal, gave birth to a healthy baby boy, was diagnosed with heart failure, and received a heart transplant. I started this blog to share my story upon the discovery that there are not too many folks out there talking to ya about their transplant experience. I had two women come visit with me and share their story in an effort to ease some of my anxiety. It worked like a charm and now I hope that I get a chance to be that agent of peace to someone faced with the same situation.
Why Petunia Kardia?
Petunia was a childhood, family nickname that never really went away. Kardia is Greek for “heart.”
Where did your anatomical heart logo come from?
An amazing artist named Bianca Green created it for me. She has another heart that is very similar with a different pattern variation, plus lots more creations that you can see at biancagreen.com . I contacted her about using her heart illustration for my blog soon after discovering her awesome work via Pinterest
