I had grand plans for a perfect post for today’s holiday bokeh party with Darcy, since this was my first year with a DSLR.
However, I also have a toddler;

and I had to bribe him to get even the slightest hint of a shot the past two days.

First, I promised a banana…

Then the allure of a “ma nan na” ran out…

and we had to upgrade,

to some caffeine and sugar.

That owl is one of my favorites. I got it for my husband before we were married, when I was trying to put together a rugged, manly tree for his house,
and these skates are a Gipson family treasure that just makes me smile.

I did get freed-up to practice some bokeh shots for a little while.

Oh and I snapped this of my cousin’s new pup.

All of these were shot at 1.8mm with my 35mm lens.
I am so excited to see everyone’s posts today. I know it will inspire me to shoot some new angles, and who knows maybe I’ll find some tips on working with toddlers during the holidays. ;)
I also shared some holiday decor inspiration in this other post today for Maggie’s Inspiration Workshop.

These are great. What a cute puppy! I also have a similar set of those knit? ice skates. They bring back so many memories!

Light Trigger: OUR ENTRY
I love that last one of the cute puppy!
Hi, I just found your website and wanted to let you know how cute and informative it is.
I am being evaluated for a heart transplant (I have a right heart cath tomorrow) and I’ve been looking for women who have a blogged about their experience. Your blog posts about your transplant are insightful and real. I appreciate that you were brave enough to post you thoughts and feelings. It is truly a humbling experience.
We’ll see what happens!
Thanks again.
Awww! Look at the sweet little pup!
I love those paperclip ice skates, too. The simple ornaments are always the best ones.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
P.S. Jealin’ like a felon over your camera.
